An explosive ’06 season planned for JetHawks

One annual highlight of the season returns when Military Appreciation Weekend takes place on May 19-21 with fireworks on Friday, a camouflage cap giveaway on Saturday and a camouflage baseball giveaway on Sunday. Tickets for all promotional game dates are available now with the purchase of a JetHawks ticket package or group outing. Individual game tickets for JetHawks games will go on sale March 25. Returning promotions include a pre-game Happy Hour offering half-price draft beer and Weenie Wednesdays, when fans can buy $1 Hebrew National Hot Dogs. In addition, Home Run Fireworks, presented by First City Credit Union, will be featured at all Friday and Saturday home games, in addition to select games throughout the season. LANCASTER – Six fireworks shows and a bobblehead doll of famed test pilot Chuck Yeager will be among the promotions offered at 2006 Lancaster JetHawks games. The minor-league baseball team will host its third annual Aerospace Appreciation Night on Aug. 18. The first 1,500 fans will get a Yeager bobblehead doll, and fireworks will follow the game. The annual event will be dedicated to telling fans about the 83-year-old Yeager’s accomplishments, including breaking the sound barrier in 1947 at what is now Edwards Air Force Base, as well as informing the community about his personal foundation, the General Chuck Yeager Foundation. Post-game fireworks shows are also scheduled for the April 14 opening home game at Clear Channel Stadium, May 19 during Military Appreciation Weekend, June 2 during the Endless Summer kickoff, July 3 and Aug. 5. The JetHawks open their 11th season in the California League on April 6 at Lake Elsinore before returning to Clear Channel Stadium for the home opener on April 14 versus Rancho Cucamonga.
